Hey y’all, wanted to highlight a video I think everyone should watch. He’s got some valid points and is committed to seeing the next generation equipped for our culture. Give it a watch and ping in your thoughts. If you like what you see, I highly recommend subscribing to his YouTube channel.
God’s first priority is making you holy.
Alright, so you can (hopefully) see how ridiculous this girl is. She’s convinced that her life is just super difficult, that there’s no help, and that she’s doomed to have snagged sweaters for the rest of her time on earth. Obviously this video was intended for a different purpose, but I’d like to apply it to our walk toward holiness.
So often we stumble, so many times we fall only to pick up and brush off again. I won’t discount the faithful grace of God when we fail, but I won’t accept that our life should be marked by a steady line of failures. Just as we can fall into a pattern of complacent failures – I believe we can develop a lifestyle of victory. One of the big steps in this will be identifying the “nail” in our life. Usually we can’t see it, so we need to rely on the mentors and counselors around us that truly have our best interest (a.k.a. God’s will) as their motivation.
Eventually you will have to come to terms with your sad state, with the areas that you’ve allowed the world to influence your life. You can’t just say “It’s not about the movies I watch!” or “We never cross ‘the line’ what’s the big deal?” or the infamous “It’s not hurting anyone else, I don’t see why it’s wrong.”
WAKE UP! You cannot continue in this path of denial and expect your sweaters to magically mend themselves. I’m as guilty as any other person. I can dream of getting up early, set early alarms, and even go to be early – but if I don’t work to develop a passionate love relationship with God I won’t have any reason to actually meet Him with the sunrise. My own pleasure and comfort will override my good intentions and I will miss out on yet another opportunity to fall more in love with Him and find true fulfillment in my life.
Stop worrying about what it’s not, and start honestly asking what is stopping you from changing the world. Hint: start on your knees before the author of all wisdom.
Many centuries ago, Adam and eve made a choice to do what they wanted, what felt good at the moment instead of doing what was right. That choice still haunts the world and impacts your daily life…
The world has fallen.
Moral decay: The decisions of one who prefers pleasure over integrity to the point of telling others that it is “Liberty” to cut off integrity and morals from yourself to instead enjoy the immediate pleasure of our “Natural” cravings. This was the basic mindset of the people living in the times of Noah. “Do what you like to do, have fun doing it, and justify it”. I don’t think God approved.
If we think we are somehow better than Adam or Eve, we are doing nothing short of believing a lie. We are lied to on a daily basis and make good and bad choices every day. But do your choices say “I want to walk with God”? Or do they say “I love doing what I want”?
There is a battle raging right now, and it’s your choice once your done reading this to ignore your looming cravings, and let them “naturally” happen. Or do you recognize you are more than born into sin, but even welcome parts of it into your life? Take a good look at your thoughts and choices, you will find things.
The world has fallen, you are no exception. But you can be an example.

Yes, FYE we have video footage of the PureGen team making not one, but TWO pink tipped fauxhawks at our last teen event! (scroll down for the video)
By now you know that we spend our days travelling the world to equip the next generation of world changers to live pure in heart, mind, and body. What you might not know is that we’re all 100% volunteers. Yes, the PureGen team (staffed in majority by full time volunteers at Generations of Virtue) is made up of people just like you who have decided that God’s call on our life needs to be shared – no matter the cost.
Every year the GOV team takes this message over to several countries in Asia and we minister there for about 2 months at a time. We bring the message of purity and holiness to people of all ages and many different languages.
Now you’re smart, and you know that this costs money. The bottom line in this equation is that we can’t do this without help from donors to the cause. In order to raise funds for Asia, our entire GOV team has pitched in at different events and offered to do something a little crazy and mostly embarrassing to themselves. We’ve had pink hair, a toothpaste covered head, pink tipped fauxhawks, and an impromptu Irish Jig. You can see pictures and videos of all these shenanigans over on our Facebook page (Psst, like the page to see more fun stuff).
If you would like to donate to a cause and help GOV take the message across the ocean in 2013, you can donate right now through GOV! Thanks for all of your comments and support!

Speaking of having baggage, we don’t really need help from other people to pile on the baggage, we do a pretty good job doing it ourselves! When we do things like compare ourselves to others. We think things like: “Why is it so easy for them and so hard for me?” or “If only I were as pretty or beautiful as her only then people will like me” and even “They are so good at everything and I am terrible at everything”. And in doing so we pick up more baggage. When we believe the lies of the world all we do is pick up more baggage.
We sometimes pick up baggage from those that love us dearly; they just don’t realize that their words can cut like a knife. And they don’t mean to hurt us, it’s just they have got their own baggage to deal with. You see we don’t deal with baggage, we just pass it on. And for us, if we don’t find our self-worth in our relationship with Christ then… you guessed it… we pick up more baggage. It gets uncomfortable and hard to manage. And when we try to dump our baggage onto someone else it never works. Instead we pick up more baggage.
And then there’s one more. There’s your sin, your secret sin. And you think to yourself “I have got it all under control, I can do this!” when in reality… You can’t. You’re miserable. All that baggage is just too heavy for you to carry but you carry it anyway.
But Christ tells us in Matthew 11:28:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
He says it right there. Come to him and he WILL give you rest. You don’t have to carry all that baggage! So come to Christ today. Ask him to take all your baggage from you so that you may have rest. He wants to free you and he WILL take it from you.

running through the forest, messing with your phone, eating, alcohol, daydreaming, forgetting, video games, wasting time, doing your nails, extra long showers, tobacco, writing in a journal, pornography, movies, doing your hair, camping, moving, exercising, gardening, flying a kite, going to friend’s houses, drugs, cutting, and picking flowers.
What do all these have in common? They can be used as a form of escape or are a side effect of someone wanting to escape. It’s one thing to want to escape from a person you don’t like, but when it comes to God, and what he’s doing in your life, sometimes it hurts to feel his chisel chipping on us, but it’s that chipping that makes us free. Next time you want to just “Get away”, ask yourself first “Is God trying to teach me something or chip something off of me?”
Check out this video- it will rock your world. http://skitguys.com/videos/item/gods-chisel/
A video from the PureGen team:
But it’s only a little bit… from Pure Gen on Vimeo.
A short video explaining how we justify our media choices.
So often we believe the lie that “Just a little bit won’t hurt.” When we wanna see a movie that has “mild sexual content” we justify it by saying “Just a little bit won’t hurt me…” but the truth is that it is mixed all throughout the movie, and what goes in – will come out.
It’s just a little bit… Are you willing to risk it?
