Where are they now?

Testimonies and thoughts from previous interns

Molly, 20 year old from NY

I was reminded again and again that it is not about me or what I might “bring to the table”. It is and always will only be about giving everything to God.

Dilynn, 19 year old from NM

During this internship there might be something in your life that will hard to let go of. You will be faced with many choices. All I can say is “GO ALL OUT!”

…Because of what God did on the internship, I am a different man.

Kate, 19 year old college student

For me, it was a summer of love. Coming out of a home with unsaved parents and an atheist younger sister, the Generations of Virtue summer internship was quite possibly one of the best experiences of my life. I’m a student at a very secular college where just being a Christian earns me a place on the outside. But on the program, I felt like I was safe, home, and loved from the very first day. For the first time in my life, I was encompassed by people who actually wanted my faith to grow, and were there to help guide me on the journey.

I experienced Christ’s love so intimately, simply by just being in a loving environment. It didn’t matter where we were, from New York to California; the Lord’s hands were always upon us. Interacting with different people at conferences and youth groups was such a blessing. It was so powerful, to be teaching people how awesome our God is, specifically His design for romance. Purity is so much more than not having sex before marriage, and our generation has the chance to completely embody the true bliss of living pure lives. I learned from all of the wonderful books I was able to read, and grew from being supporting in the faith. I loved, and was loved. I can’t even express how blessed I was from those six weeks on the road; it’s simply too great for words. It’s not hard to believe; the Lord opened every door for me to come, so of course He’d do more than I ever could have wanted or hoped for. That’s just how great our God is.

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”
Isaiah 12:2

Victoria, 18 year old student from NY

Before I came on my internship with Generations of Virtue, I knew what I wanted to do after I graduated. I would go to school for my chosen major and return home to manage my family’s farm. The internship was just a little trip I wanted to take to grow closer to God. I would complete the internship and then continue on with my life. Ha, that was my plan. God’s plan was completely different. And as I started the internship I was launched on an enormous adventure full of ups and down and scary learning curves. I learned so much about God, about other people, and even about myself. Half way through, I knew I couldn’t just go back home and live my life like I had previous planned. Now skip ahead a few months and a few visits home later and I am still with the GOV team. And I know God has called me to be here for this season in my life. I can truly say the Generations of Virtue Internship has changed my life because it literally has.

Kaitlyn, 17 year old high school student

God is faithful! something I’ve heard so many times, and yet forget so easily! God really proved His faithfulness to me during the entire process of my internship with GOV. Before I even knew I was accepted, He made little things in my life fall into place to prepare my heart for this journey, and all throughout the time I was with GOV He continued to show me in little and huge ways just how faithful he was. I’m so grateful for the time that I got to spend with GOV, I wouldn’t trade an internship with them for anything I could have been doing last spring!

If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.
